Pediatric Psychiatrist jobs in Scranton, PA
Pediatric Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders affecting children, adolescents, and their families. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, determines the appropriate course of treatment, and discusses these treatment plans with the child or adolescent and the responsible adults. Being a Pediatric Psychiatrist prescribes medication when necessary. May need to act as an advocate for the best interests of the patient. Additionally, Pediatric Psychiatrist requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Centurion is proud to be the provider of mental health services to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.
We are currently seeking a full time Psychiatrist to join our team at the State Correctional Institution Muncy located in Muncy, Pennsylvania.
The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for patients, works under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director, and provides clinical leadership for a multidisciplinary team in providing mental health services to patients with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues.
Qualifications
- MD or DO. Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license and DEA.
- BE/BC by the ABPN.
- All qualified applicants are required to successfully complete a security clearance process as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections.
