Standard:

A full time administrator is in charge of the facility. This person shall be qualified by training and experience in healthcare. Must hold an unimcumbered Missouri Administrator license.

General Description:

• Establishes and directs overall operation of the facility’s activities both internal and external in order to provide excellent care of the residents.
• Coordinates these activities to ensure compliance with established standards
• Promotes public relations
• Arranges and obtains transfer and working agreements with other health facilities
• Will monitor as well as coordinate overall plan of care

Duties and Responsibilities

• Establishes policies pertaining to total care, personnel, medical staff, financial status, public relations, maintenance of the building and grounds. Explains such policies to the staff and other concerned parties. Reviews compliance with established policies by personnel and medical staff. Periodically reviews policies and proposes changes as found necessary. Review job descriptions and policy and procedure manuals for all departments, annually.
• Review compliance of facility with federal, state, and local standards.
• Selects competent personnel to supervise activities of major departments. Meets with department leaders of regular intervals. Conducts in-service and supervisory training meetings. Receives advice from each department leaders on matter pertaining to department operation and external relationships. Reviews and frequently checks competence of the workforce. Assist personnel in establishing a home-like environment.
• Regularly check financial status of the facility. Maintains efficient accounting system to meet the needs of the facility. Forecasts budget preparation and changes in fee schedules made to insure coverage of the cost of operations.
• Maintains liaison with community hospitals and other health facilities in the community and coordinates with their services through working transfer agreements.
• Represents facility in dealing with outside agencies including governmental and third party payors.
• Represents facility at top level meetings. Attend meetings and training regarding changes and compliance to the industry.
• Reviews physical condition of the facility. Directs repairs and new construction programs, within the financial capabilities of the facility.
• Responsible for purchase of major equipment and supplies.
• The Administrator is a full time position.
