Technology Engineer (Sr. Sys Admin/Engineer) - Active Directory

We are looking for a technology engineer with diverse skills who will be responsible to design, build, implement and deliver scalable cloud solutions. This role will be responsible for designing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure environment as well as be responsible for ongoing maintenance and advancement of the server environment through effective engineering and implementation of solutions, development of infrastructure services strategy to support standard-based directory services, single sign-on solutions, server processing and storage consolidation, standard backup and restoration services, comprehensive security and patch protection capabilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Installs and maintains cloud-based applications, systems, or associated infrastructures.
• Ensure appropriate implementation of technology following all standards and best practices.
• Adhere to and support all information security standards.
• Maintain our Active Directory environment.
• Architect, deploy, and administer computing services in both AWS and Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure providers.
• Troubleshoot Converged Infrastructure Systems to resolve compute, storage, network and other infrastructure problems.
• Engineer and perform Capacity Management for Infrastructure Solutions & Services.
• Monitors system uptime and performance, troubleshooting and resolving errors.
• Perform root cause analysis and provide guidance to technical leadership regarding future issue prevention.
• Stays informed of emerging cloud technologies.
• Responsible for problem management escalation and resolution.
• Support of our VMWare environment, including software defined data center (SDDC).
• Day to day management of Windows Active Directory services.
• Support, implementation, and design services for Microsoft Active Directory and Windows-based systems across the enterprise (multi-domain environment), including directory and identity management solutions.
• Support Active Directory authentication and LDAP configuration issues.
• Design, configure and support DNS Service and DNS resolution issues.
• Design, configure and support DHCP services.
• Leverage Application Performance Monitoring tools to analyze systems performance and availability issue.
• Contribute to break/fix diagnosis and resolution.
• Escalate issues/problem for resolution.
• Perform standard maintenance and manage tickets queues.
• Participate in an afterhours on-call rotation.

Required Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of Active Directory experience (Azure Entra)
• 3-5 years of experience with cloud infrastructure.
• Expert level experience with server operating systems (Windows & Linux), facilitating high-level engineering, architectural design and support.
• Experience monitoring and designing solutions for the cloud.
• Expert level experience with Windows Active Directory Services and Identity Management Solutions.
• Experience with provisioning on the AWS or Azure cloud platform.
• Deep level experience with storage architecture.
• Working knowledge of PowerShell and command-based activities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of cloud foundational components such as identity and access management (IAM) software defined networking, security, governance, and compliance.
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
• Some experience with serverless technologies.
• Some experience with scripting (Powershell, Terraform, Bicep, Python).
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical issues.
• Ability to effectively communicate both in verbal and written forms.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with both Windows and Linux systems.
• Expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Enterprise monitoring and logging experience.
• Logical problem solver, data driven, coupled with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
