Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners jobs in Alamogordo, NM

Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners repairs percussion instruments, such as drums, cymbals, and xylophones. Removes drum tension rod screws and rods by hand or using drum key. Being a Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager.   • Essential Job Functions:

    • Reads and interprets design specifications
    • Installs Electro/Pneumatic/Hydraulic instrument and associated tubing per client specifications.
    • Drives from site to site as needed to perform tasks assigned and installation work.
    • Attends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by department
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Minimum Qualifications:

    • Education: High school diploma, or equivalent. Vocational training/certification or other postsecondary education directly relative to position is preferred.
    • Work Experience: Five (5) years’ experience with the installation of common oilfield instrumentation and associated tubing, valves, drains, etc.
    • License/Certifications:
      • Valid driver license with clean driving record
      • OSHA 10 certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
      • H2S certification, or ability to obtain upon hire
    • Post Job Offer Requirements:
      • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test
      • Alaska North Slope locations only: Take and pass a Fit-for-Duty Examination

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

    • Ability to read maps, and navigate to remote locations.
    • Ability to plan and organize within a work schedule.
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
    • Computer skills commensurate with program and job applications
    • Must be able to take direction and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
