Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners repairs percussion instruments, such as drums, cymbals, and xylophones. Removes drum tension rod screws and rods by hand or using drum key. Being a Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Reports to the Manager of CSR and is responsible for the care, preparation, and maintenance of instruments, equipment, inventory and supplies in CSR and Clean Room located in OR. Cleans, decontaminates, identifies, inspects and assembles instrumentation for use in a sterile procedure. Sterilizes items and completes quality control checks as required. Ensures proper inventory levels. Assembles Surgical Case Carts. Tracks loaner instrumentation as needed.
