Additionally, Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Our Apprentice Hearing Instrument Specialist position serves as a pathway to becoming a Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist. Hearing Instrument Specialists are state-licensed hearing health professionals trained to evaluate and manage hearing loss in adults through the fitting, verification and maintenance of hearing aids, as well as education of patients and their families. Through the Apprentice Hearing Instrument Specialist Program, the apprentice will gain the academic knowledge and clinical skills to become a state-licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist. Our program includes virtual classes, private tutoring, hands-on clinical care, and mentorship with a Hearing Instrument Specialist or Doctor of Audiology. Once the apprentice has completed all required coursework, state mandated exams, licensure and clinical competencies are achieved, the apprentice will graduate to the role of Hearing Instrument Specialist. Hearing Instrument Specialists not only evaluate and manage hearing loss, but also reside over the health of the clinic, ensuring the clinic's growth and adherence to best practices.
