Additionally, Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Domtar Plymouth, NC Mill is searching for an Advanced Apprentice in Electrical/Instrument Maintenance.
Job Description:
The primary function of the Apprentice Advance Electrical/Instrument is assisting and learning electrical/electronic troubleshooting and repair of equipment, as well as facility electrical applications; programming PLCs; troubleshooting hydraulic equipment; and fine tuning the timing of various machine centers.
Candidate must be a skilled worker having a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of electrical and/or instrumentation equipment, processes and techniques.
If selected for consideration, you must successfully complete a selection process that may include, but is not limited to, aptitude tests, interviews, practical skills demonstration, criminal background investigation, reference verification, and pre-employment drug screening.
Domtar requires participation in a structured apprentice program. Successful candidate must be able to advance to Journeyman level in related field and two other skills within the apprentice program. Additional skills are assigned based on mill needs. This position could possibly require rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Position Requirements:
Candidates must have an Associate’s Degree in the Electrical or Instrumentation field and one year related industrial electrical/instrumentation experience or three years related industrial electrical/instrumentation experience.
Education, experience, skill, and specialized training should demonstrate a proven ability in preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all types of electrical/instrumentation equipment associated with an industrial manufacturing operation.
Must have a Career Readiness Certificate.
