Personnel Records Clerk performs clerical and administrative tasks to support HR operations and projects. Completes routine data entry, report generation, and audit activities to ensure the accuracy of employee data in HRIS systems. Being an Personnel Records Clerk assists with delivering core HR processes like onboarding, hiring, terminations, retirements, timekeeping, and program implementations, including benefits, compensation, and performance management. May administer other HR systems used for timekeeping, performance, and training management processes. Additionally, Personnel Records Clerk requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Personnel Records Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. The primary purpose of the Medical Records Clerk position is to prepare and/or scan documents into the electronic document imaging system. Examines pages and verifies patient information on each page. Maintains scanning equipment. Indexes scanned images, while analyzing the quality of scanned documents. (The prepping, scanning, and indexing process is the equivalent of filing medical record documents in the paper chart).
High school graduate or GED equivalent required. Prior experience working in an acute care hospital medical record department with medical record prepping, scanning, and indexing experience preferred. Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English and have good oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to perform job function, follow directions, and make decisions without direct supervision. Must have a working knowledge of computers and be able to navigate the internet. Must have experience at using Windows and Microsoft Office, especially with the use of Excel, Outlook and shared files as daily tools. Must be detail oriented, display a high level of accuracy, and be organized. Must demonstrate professionalism, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers. May be required to work evenings and weekends.
