Responsibilities:
1. Welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a warm and friendly demeanor.
2. Manage the waitlist efficiently during peak hours, accurately estimating wait times and providing guests with updates as needed.
3. Maintain a tidy and organized entrance area, including managing coat check if applicable.
4. Coordinate with servers and floor staff to ensure timely seating and efficient table turnover.
5. Answer phone calls and assist with reservations, providing helpful information to callers.
6. Escort guests to their tables and provide menus, making note of any special requests or preferences.
7. Monitor dining room activity and anticipate guest needs, providing assistance as required.
8. Assist with seating arrangements for large parties and special events, coordinating with management as needed.
9. Handle guest inquiries, comments, and complaints professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
10. Collaborate with the kitchen and bar staff to maintain accurate waitlist times and manage guest expectations.
11. Uphold restaurant policies and procedures, including COVID-19 safety protocols and sanitation guidelines.
12. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to stay informed about menu updates, specials, and promotions.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and basic food and beverage terminology.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements:
