Position Details

• Shift: Night
• Status: Full-Time

This is a night shift position working 9:30pm to 6:00am

JOB SUMMARY:

Secures the property against fire, theft, vandalism and unauthorized entry. Performs some nontechnical maintenance repairs. Responds to emergency situations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information.
2. Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
3. Makes routine security checks of the grounds and facilities.
4. Responds to an alarm, pager or cell phone.
5. Watches for any irregularities from normal business operations and calls appropriate personnel or authorities when there are irregularities.
6. Perform some nontechnical maintenance as needed in the buildings for emergencies such as overflowing toilets, patio home sprinklers going off cleanup, etc.
7. Will be responders for Lifeline calls IL.
8. Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
2. First aide training, CPR, and AED training.
3. Ability to make decisions quickly and correctly.
4. Two years’ experience as a security guard preferred.
5. Must be of good moral character.
6. Ability to make independent and good judgment decisions.
7. Must have organizational skills and be able to do sequential events.
8. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
9. Ability to communicate to residents at a level they can understand.
