General Summary of the Position
Petroleum Tank Installer will assist with the installation of Gas Station Fuel Systems including excavation, tank and tank top installation, piping installation, dispenser setting and startup of system.
Essential Functions
· Ability to oversee full petroleum jobs
· Prep site for installation of petroleum equipment including excavation and trenching
· Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications
· Installation of fuel system and troubleshooting as required including
o Underground and aboveground tanks
o Product and vent piping
o Tank top equipment installation
o Dispenser/pump equipment installation
· Inspect and test installed piping using pressure gauges, hydrostatic testing, or other methods per standards
· Concrete prep and pouring
· Travel and overnights are required
· Potential to learn and receive in house training to advance to become tank installer
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Read blueprints and/or architectural drawings
· Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
· Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
· Must have a mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
· Knowledge of fuel systems preferred but willing to train right person
· Self-sufficient when provided a task
Education, Training and Experience
· Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
· Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.
· Pump and mechanical experience
· Piping Procedures and installation
· Basic electrical experience (Preferred not required)
· Maine State Tank Installer License or ICC (Or in the process of obtaining)
· CDL license (Not Required)
· Knowledge in petroleum related equipment (Required)
Special Requirements
· Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
