    This position will join our Greater Washington team and be based out of the Puget Sound area with a focus on field work for water quality compliance projects. When not in the field, this position has flexibility to work remotely and come into the office for mentorship, project, and team collaboration. This position requires overnight travel for field work throughout Washington.

    Who you are:

    Experience: A bachelor's degree in geology, 1 years consulting experience a plus, or equivalent education and work experience. Prior course-level work or professional experience in environmental geology including hydrogeology, contaminant hydrogeology, borehole logging, geomorphology, GIS, and related fields. A Geologist in Training Certification and a 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification and/or current refresher are preferred.

    Responsibilities: Perform field investigations, including environmental drilling oversight; sampling for soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, stormwater, and gas/vapor. Use field instruments to obtain air/water/soil readings. Prepare field forms, analytical tables, and boring logs. Work with and support senior staff in writing technical reports, such as site investigation summary reports, hydrogeologic assessments, sampling and analysis/work plans, Phase I and Phase II ESA reports, Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies, and quarterly groundwater monitoring reports. This position may also grow to assist in geomorphology and fish passage projects. Travel may be required up to 40% per month, but usually around 10%.

Interest in field investigations, working outdoors, developing hydrogeologic cross sections and site conceptual models, field/surface geology, and familiarity with the operation of remediation systems are all advantageous.

    Relationship-Focused: Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative approach, standout colleague, and not afraid to ask questions. Driven to support and serve clients. We are seeking highly motivated candidates to work collaboratively with clients and peers working closely with a team of hydrogeologists, environmental engineers, environmental scientists, and environmental planners.

    Excel at Communication: Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas and convey information in verbal and written form with advanced technical writing skills. Capable of working remotely, independently, and collaboratively.

    Base salary for this position is in the range of $70,000-$80,000. Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, location, and role.
