Pharmacist Manager manages a group of pharmacists who, under the direction of a physician, compound and dispense prescribed drugs in a retail or healthcare facility environment. Oversees daily pharmacy operations. Being a Pharmacist Manager monitors and audits drug inventory, ensures compliance with all regulatory guidelines and reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy or a Pharm.D. Additionally, Pharmacist Manager requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Pharmacist Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. NuCara LTC is a closed-door long-term care pharmacy located in Iowa City, IA. We specialize in packaging and distributing medications to nursing homes, assisted living facilities and group homes in Eastern Iowa. As we continue to grow, we are adding new members to our team and are currently looking for a full-time Pharmacist to join our healthcare team.
This position will have a focus on delivering patient-centered clinical service, dispensing medications, and ensuring a safe, effective and cost-efficient medication therapy. At NuCara, we prioritize medication management with the goal of delivering the best pharmacy value without sacrificing the quality of care prized by our patients. Candidates should be highly organized, highly motivated, be able to work in a team, and must be able to use available resources to provide appropriate patient care. The position requires a graduate of an accredited college of Pharmacy with BS or higher in Pharmacy, as well as a current Iowa Pharmacy License.
The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday working 40 hours per week. On-call requirement would be 1-2 days per week plus every third weekend. The pharmacy is closed on Saturdays, Sundays and all major holidays.
