Pharmacist Manager manages a group of pharmacists who, under the direction of a physician, compound and dispense prescribed drugs in a retail or healthcare facility environment. Oversees daily pharmacy operations. Being a Pharmacist Manager monitors and audits drug inventory, ensures compliance with all regulatory guidelines and reporting. Requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy or a Pharm.D. Additionally, Pharmacist Manager requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Pharmacist Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Pharmacist Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Provides lab review, clinical services, patient education, and corresponding documentation via the departmental clinical initiatives. - 15%
Provides experiential education and training for technicians, students and new employees.\u00A0 - 5%
Represents the department in its collaborative effort to integrate pharmaceuctical care throughout the patients continuum of care. - 5%
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree - BS or PharmD degree
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
South Carolina Pharmacist License
In Lieu Of Above Minimum Requirements
In lieu of an active SC Pharmacist license, may be a graduate of an ACPE accredited US college of Pharmacy with a SC intern certificate pending initial licensure or have completed requirements for reciprocity pending board of pharmacy interview for licensure.\u00A0
Team members employed in this job prior to July 1, 2020 are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements. In addition, team members must be certification eligible and will have one year to obtain required certification.
