Job Description
Perform all duties required by law in the dispensing of prescriptions. This includes SNF prescriptions. Supervises all ancillary personnel while on duty. Counsels’ patients and /or customers as required. 3-4 days per week consisting of 10 hours per day. No Weekends. Retail Pharmacy Only.
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring that billing is correct and oversees clerks and technicians in billing as needed. Interprets, clarifies, and fills prescription orders with no errors. Maintains all records including controlled drugs, inventory, and prescriptions. Ensures proper documentation as required by local, state, and Federal regulations. Supervises pharmacy technicians and clerks and coordinates workflow. Participates in appropriate hospital committee meetings to which the individual is assigned. (MERP, Education, etc.) Develops and assists the PIC to revise and update policy and procedures. Is willing and able to assist the PIC in onboarding new services to the community and is not afraid of a challenge.
Qualifications & Skills
Current and valid California Pharmacy License. BS in Pharmacy, Pharm D preferred. Excellent communication skills in both oral and writing. Strong attention to detail. Multitasking and ability to prioritize work. Good organizational skills. Has integrity, compassion, and empathy. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and essentially PrimeCare (QS1) would be a plus point. Must have experience working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. Must have extensive demonstrable LTC / SNF experience. .
