Responds to customers questions about medications and advises about drug safety and potential interactions. Being a Pharmacist - Retail manages the transfer of prescriptions, incoming physician calls, and drug utilization review. Ensures that pharmacy's patient and financial records are correctly input and maintained. Additionally, Pharmacist - Retail requires a doctorate degree in pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires registered pharmacist(RPh). Requires pharmacy practice. Pharmacist - Retail's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Position Summary
Pharmacists are responsible for the safe and accurate dispensing of pharmaceuticals and ensure appropriateness of prescribed therapy for all patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Pharmacists must also communicate effectively with the department, other healthcare professionals and patients.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy
Preferred:
Master of Sciences in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
5 years hospital pharmacy or retail pharmacy experience if has a Bachelors or Masters in Pharmacy. Prior work experience not required for Doctor of Pharmacy.
Preferred:
2 years of recent retail pharmacy, hospital pharmacy experience or post-graduate residency training.
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
New Jersey Pharmacist License
Preferred:
Specialty pharmacy certification (e.g. BCPS, CGP)
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
Pharmacy skills serving patients of diverse age and disease states; working knowledge of Automated Dispensing Cabinets (e.g. PYXIS® or Omnicell®) or retail pharmacy systems; Competence in required computer programs (clinical system, ADC, parenteral documentation).
