Job Title: Pharmacist - float role (Retail, Telepharmacy, Compounding)

Job Summary: NuCara is currently seeking a Full-Time (32 to 40 hours per week) floating pharmacist role primarily at retail-focused locations but also to include our Waterloo compounding location. The pharmacist will work at these locations depending on need: Ackley, Conrad, Coralville, Fairfield, Grundy Center, Traer, Waterloo, and West Union.

This role focuses on providing comprehensive coverage in retail pharmacy, encompassing compounding services that prioritize patient-centered clinical care. Responsibilities include administering vaccinations, supervising telepharmacy processes, and ensuring the safety and efficacy of medication therapies. It is well-suited for pharmacists looking for a dynamic and fulfilling practice in diverse pharmacy settings, ranging from small to large communities.

Responsibilities:

• Organize daily operational duties and assist in supervising pharmacy technicians and support personnel involved in a pharmacy setting.
• Utilize all available technologies in the provision of pharmaceutical care (e.g., computer systems and databases, compounding devices, and equipment).
• Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate medication dosage forms for compounding and retail medicine following the Practicing State's Pharmacy Practice Act, Federal Drug Laws, and other regulatory organizations.
• Verify and dispense intravenous admixture solutions, as required, using aseptic techniques in an accepted sterile product preparation area.
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements, professional standards of practice, and company policies and procedures in providing pharmaceutical care.
• Training specifically pertaining to compounding will be offered.

Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, high motivation, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and must effectively utilize available resources to deliver appropriate patient care.

Position Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited school of pharmacy required.
• Current Iowa Pharmacy license by starting date.
• 2 years of experience managing/working with technicians preferred.

Our pharmacies observe closure on Sundays and all major holidays. Staffing follows regular business hours, Monday through Friday, with the addition of a monthly half-day Saturday shift and participation in a monthly weekend on-call rotation.
