Pharmacy Director jobs in Altus, OK
Pharmacy Director directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for a hospital or healthcare facility's pharmacy services. Maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy. Being a Pharmacy Director requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Typically requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Additionally, Pharmacy Director typically reports to a top management. The Pharmacy Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Pharmacy Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. - Maintain confidentiality when handling patient records
- Assist with guest charge and delivery records
- Selling of Nonprescription drugs in their original containers
- Stocking and cleaning of pharmacy shelves
- Labeling and putting order away
- Ordering pharmacy stock
- Mailing out prescriptions
- Other duties as assigned by management
- May not perform any duties expressly outlined by the State Board of Pharmacy as duties designated for a registered technician or technician trainee
Key Responsibilities:
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- HIPAA certification (can be obtained through United Spirit University)
- Flexible schedules, including evening and weekend hours required
- Experience in retail pharmacy is a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Perform all other physical aspects of the job including bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, standing and walking for 8-10 hour period
- Ability to function as a team member and get along with others
- Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude
