Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Greet customers entering the establishment warmly.
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
• Establish or identify prices of goods, services, or admission, and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.
• Resolve customer complaints and answer their questions, providing information on procedures or policies.
• Keep accurate records of monetary exchanges, authorization forms, and transaction reconciliations.
• Exchange money, credit, and make change for customers.
• Reconcile 3rd party payments and accounts, working with the billing department to balance account(s).
• Answer telephones and respond to questions or requests.
• Assist customers by answering simple questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information.
• Complete training requirements to stay up-to-date on policies and procedures

Qualifications: Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Pharmacy cashier experience preferred. Must be flexible as to the changing needs of Whiting Pharmacy. Must be able to work as a team player at all times.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Possess computer skills and be able to learn new programs.
• Establish and maintain legible pharmacy records.
• Gain the confidence and cooperation of patients and work effectively with them.
• Maintain a courteous, professional attitude.
• Pay attention to detail.
• Establish and maintain effective/productive working relationships with supervisor(s) and co-workers.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
