Maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy. Being a Pharmacy Director requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Typically requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Additionally, Pharmacy Director typically reports to a top management. The Pharmacy Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. About the pharmacy
This is an institutionalized pharmacy located inside a newly constructed Command Sergeant Major Bennie G Atkins State Veterans Home in Enterprise, AL. The facility is designated as a licensed nursing home and will have 174 residents once fully occupied. The pharmacy will only be dispensing to residents who reside inside the State Veterans Home, and there are no walk-in or mail order prescriptions. The Director of Pharmacy’s primary role will be to oversee the preparation and delivery of all prescriptions and to provide monthly medication reconciliation reviews for all the residents in the building.
