Pharmacy Director directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for a hospital or healthcare facility's pharmacy services. Maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy. Being a Pharmacy Director requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Typically requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Additionally, Pharmacy Director typically reports to a top management. The Pharmacy Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Pharmacy Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Banner Lassen Medical Center is a 25 bed not-for-profit hospital located in Susanville, California and operated by Banner Health. BLMC provides 24/7 emergency care, general medical and surgical services, cancer care, ICU, maternal, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, and a number of other related services. BLMC offers an excellent opportunity to apply good pharmacy practice skills. As a member of the CPS team, the director will have access to unparalleled resources for improving clinical practice and patient safety.
     
    The centralized Pharmacy is open 7am-4:30pm (M-F), 7am-3:30pm (Sat,) 7am-9am (Sun). After hours is supported by Remote Order Entry. The Pharmacy currently is supported by Cerner and Pyxis automation. EMAR/BVM are planned. In addition to the Director, there is a Pharmacist and 2 Technicians. The Pharmacy is managed by Comprehensive Pharmacy Services and this position is an employee of CPS.
     
    As the Director of Pharmacy you will oversee all pharmacy operations at including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs. The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the continued growth, development, and implementation operational systems that support safe delivery of pharmaceutical care. There is some on-call.

    Required Qualifications:

    - Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD)
    - Current California pharmacist license in good standing
    - 1 year previous hospital pharmacy experience (within last 5 years). Of completion of a Residency in 2012.
    Some experience in a lead or supervisory role desired.
