Pharmacy Director jobs in Springfield, MA
Pharmacy Director directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for a hospital or healthcare facility's pharmacy services. Maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy. Being a Pharmacy Director requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Typically requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Additionally, Pharmacy Director typically reports to a top management. The Pharmacy Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Pharmacy Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Join the MedWiz of Mass team as a pharmacy account manager, where you will provide outstanding clinical services to our facilities and collaborate with the clinical and customer service teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships with all facility leadership and nursing teams, acting as a liaison between the pharmacy and facility
- Provide expert advice & recommendations to the pharmacy & nursing teams
- Provide survey support to SNF and LTC facilities, which will include med pass observations, audits, educational sessions and providing reports in a timely fashion
- Provide excellent customer service and account management responsibilities
- Collaborate with the clinical pharmacy & customer service teams
- Maintain an expert level of knowledge of all federal & state rules & regulations surrounding the SNF & LTC settings, as applicable to this position
- Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation and be willing to travel to all buildings serviced by MedWiz Pharmacy as scheduled
- Participate in policy and procedure review and development, and other activities as needed
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of clinical leadership and nursing teams
Requirements:
- Previous long-term care experience preferred but not required. Must be a certified pharmacy tech and/or willing to obtain a tech license
