Pharmacy Director directs, establishes, and plans the overall policies and goals for a hospital or healthcare facility's pharmacy services. Maintains contact with other department heads, medical staff, and nursing staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy. Being a Pharmacy Director requires a bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Typically requires Registered Pharmacist (RPh). Additionally, Pharmacy Director typically reports to a top management. The Pharmacy Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Job Summary:
Directs the work flow and efficiency of the Pharmacy Department. Directs the formulates policies and action plans to meet established goals and complexity of patient care needs in alignment with the strategic goals of the organization. Provides leadership and direction to build an effective pharmacy team. Leads with an operational focus, setting strategy, objectives, and policies. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
