Pharmacy Service Clerk is responsible for performing daily, routine tasks in the pharmacy such as answering the phone, responding to customer requests, data entry, record maintenance, and other clerical duties. Follows organization and department procedures to complete tasks in a timely manner. Being a Pharmacy Service Clerk assists with stocking and inventory tasks. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Pharmacy Service Clerk typically reports to a supervisor. The Pharmacy Service Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.     POSITION SUMMARY:
    Provide quality, prompt, and courteous customer service to clients of the Oneida Community Health Center Pharmacy. Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Provide service to customers picking up/dropping off prescriptions; process receipt through insurance where appropriate and accept cash/check or process credit card information.
    2.Answer patient phone calls; processes refill orders.
    3.Provide and maintain excellent customer service.
    4. Address customer complaints and concerns with professionalism and tact.
    5. Reconcile and verify startup monies at the beginning and ending of all shifts.
    6. Prepare routine daily reports such as sales, orders, credit card receipts, and/or bank deposits.
    7. Follow standard procedures for Pharmacy opening and closing.
    8. Operate computerized cash register to conduct sales transactions; handles cash and makes change as required.
    9. Prepare cash register reconciliation and miscellaneous routine reports.
    10. Receive and process pharmaceutical deliveries from vendors as appropriate, and places on shelves in accordance with established protocol and procedure.
    11. Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required.
    12. Adhere to all Tribal Personnel Policies and Procedures, Tribal Standard Operating Procedures, and Area and Program Strategic Plans and Policies.
    13. Maintain strict department security, confidentiality, and quality to meet professional standards of the department.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • Frequently stand, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel crouch, and be able to reach out and pick-up and hold small objects.
    • Occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
    • Work is generally performed in a climate-controlled setting with a moderate noise level.
    • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
    • A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

    STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
    2. Knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
    3. Knowledge and understanding of medical and pharmaceutical terminology.
    4. Knowledge of local, State, and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to pharmacy.
    5. Knowledge of medical insurance and third-party payment systems and procedures.
    6. Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
    7. Knowledge of records management and basic accounting procedures.
    8. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
    9. Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
    10. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
    11. Ability to set and meet priorities, meet strict deadlines and the ability to successfully cope with challenging situations and conditions.
    12. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal and written format.
    13. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    14. Ability to continually seek improvement in results.
    15. Ability and willingness to provide strong customer service orientation.
    16. Ability to inform and communicate verbally and in writing in diverse and challenging situations with the ability to process information effectively, identify and define problems and make objective decisions.
    17. Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
    18. Ability to obtain First Aid Certification and CPR certification.
    19. Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment.
    20. Complete Oneida Certification on Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect training within ninety (90) days of employment.
    21. Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters.
    22. Must complete Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training within thirty (30) days of employment and annually thereafter.
    23. Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training.
    24. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must adhere to the Nation’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
    25.Must comply with Caregiver Law and Grant conditions criminal history checks as a condition of employment to include fingerprinting.
    26. Employees are required to have proof of immunity or dates of 2 doses of MMR and Varicella prior to starting in any position within the Oneida Comprehensive Health Division. Any refusal of vaccination(s) or failure to provide proof of immunity may disqualify the applicant.
    27. Must pass a background security check with the Oneida Nation to meet the Employment Eligibility Requirements, Tribal/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance as they pertain to the position. A temporary license or Gaming License issued by the Oneida Gaming Commission is required as a condition of employment and continuing employment within the Oneida Nation Gaming Division.
    28. A valid driver’s license or occupational driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance are required. Must obtain a Wisconsin driver’s license or occupational driver’s license within thirty (30) days of employment if applicant has an out-ofstate driver’s license. Must be authorized as eligible to operate a Personal vehicle under the Oneida Nation’s Vehicle Driver Certification and Fleet Management Law prior to actual start date. Must maintain driver’s eligibility as a condition of employment.
