Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Physical Requirements
Requires regular routine movement, including prolonged standing, walking, reaching, twisting and bending. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Driving may be required for delivery and pick-up purposes. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use appropriate adaptive devices that will enable senses to function at a level required to meet essential duties of this position.
Working Environment
Works indoors in a retail pharmacy setting with low-risk exposure. Occasional travel for office related items may be needed.
