Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Role Summary
Pharmacy Technician responsibilities may include the following: compounding sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations under the supervision of the compounding pharmacist; performing fulfillment of data entry and prescription processing, and/or assisting and supporting laboratory technicians in prescription compounding and fulfillment activities. This position reports to the department team lead.
