Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0-1 year of general work experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

About the Position
A Pharmacy Technician with Meadville Medical Center will assist the pharmacist in the preparation of IV admixtures and other drugs, place wholesale orders for stock replacement, and fulfill other vital duties. You will operate under the direction and supervision of the pharmacist at either the LS or GS pharmacy as needed.

Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Pharmacy Technician certification preferred
- Familiarity with pharmacy stock and distribution procedures
- Knowledge of drug nomenclature, dosage calculations, and commonly used drug names
- Experience in IV admixture, including use of syringes
