Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     A few of the primary responsibilities include:
    • Provides excellent customer service to customers by building loyalty and repeat business.
    • Champions Thrifty White programs to patients such as Ready Refill, Medication Synchronization and HealthyPackRx and assists with enrolling patients.
    • Supports the Pharmacist in Clinical Service offerings.
    • Counts, measures, and packages medication in the appropriate container under pharmacist’s supervision and final approval to accurately fill prescriptions.
    • Inputs prescriptions into the computer for accurate transmission to insurance companies.
     Applicants must:
    • Be at least 18 years of age;
    • Have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
