Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Computer skills preferred
Salary commensurate with experience and certifications
The ability to work under immediate supervision and rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Ability to work as a member of a team
Ability to operate personal computers and/or computer terminals.
Skilled at performing detailed work.
