Pharmacy Technician jobs in Roanoke, VA
Pharmacy Technician assists a registered pharmacist with support activities and processes required to dispense medical prescriptions. Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information. Being a Pharmacy Technician receives and stocks incoming supplies. May prepare labels and routine prepacked orders. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician may be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. May require 0-1 year of general work experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Long term care experience preferred, but not required.
QS1 knowledge preferred.Our organization is looking for a Certified Pharmacy Technician to fill orders for our long term care residents. The ideal candidate for this position is responsible, detail-oriented, dependable, and willing to learn. Pharmacy is open 8:30am-9pm Mon-Fri and 12-6pm Saturday. Eight hour shifts rotate among staff.
Responsibilities:
- Filling medication orders in compliance packaging
- Performing data entry
- Preparation of medications for delivery to nursing units
- Set example of excellent customer service to nurses, residents, fellow staff
- Other tasks as requested
