Pharmacy Technician Supervisor oversees the work of a team of Pharmacy Technicians that assist Pharmacists with the dispensing of medical prescriptions. Monitors daily activities and manages work schedules to ensure that quality, production and customer service standards are maintained. Being a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor may hire, train, and evaluate new employees. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Pharmacy Technician Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Typically requires Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations and providing excellent patient care. This position is based in a hospital setting, specifically in acute care and critical care areas.Duties:
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage and labeling
- Assist in the compounding of sterile products using aseptic technique
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their inquiries and concerns
- Assist in the delivery of medications to patient care areas
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and maintain patient records
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to pharmacy operationsQualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program
- Current Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with pharmacy software systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
