Additionally, Phlebotomist requires Certification by a nationally recognized body. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Phlebotomist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Summary:
Phlebotomist will be back office working with 10-20 patients/day
- Medium pace setting that is busy since they do everything from blood draws to full processing alone.
- Update chart as needed and do data entry
- Perform venipuncture procedures
- Blood draws and collect specimens
- Spin and centrifuge specimen
- Freeze or send out samples
- Verifying billing and insurance information
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Phlebotomy schooling completed
- 1-2 years of experience with phlebotomy and especially processing
- Fully comfortable with processing samples (spinning samples/centrifuge, refrigerating, etc)
- Friendly outgoing personality!
Nice have:
- Phlebotomy Certification
- Experience with computer systems are Atlas and Sunquest
