Phlebotomist draws and collects blood samples from patients, verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. May prick finger to draw blood. Being a Phlebotomist may conduct interviews, take vital signs, and draw and test blood samples to screen donors at blood bank. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, Phlebotomist requires Certification by a nationally recognized body. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Phlebotomist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Must be able to work Saturdays and 4 other days through the week on either an opening or closing shift
Must have 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist to be considered.
Pay range is $17- $18 per hour based on experience.
JOB Summary: Assist in determining the suitability of donors to undergo plasmapheresis before venipuncture. Responsible for ensuring the safety of donors during the collection process. Monitor donors throughout the collection process for possible equipment errors, donor reactions, or unexpected events.
