Being a Phlebotomist may conduct interviews, take vital signs, and draw and test blood samples to screen donors at blood bank. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Job Summary: Perform all required duties to safely collect blood specimens from all patient populations. Accurately label, transport and perform pre-analytical processes to accession specimens into laboratory processes. Clerical duties may include demographic patient registration, clerical order entry, specimen transport documentation and packaging of specimens for transport.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completed phlebotomy course with clinical rotation required. Three (3) months phlebotomy experience preferred; certification preferred. Considerable ability to work directly with patients. Considerable ability to follow specified blood drawing techniques and ability to perform functions with high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
