Job Overview
Under indirect supervision and with oversight by the Sr. Certified Medical Assistant, responsible for the collection of accurate blood and urine specimens from outpatients in accordance with current hospital and laboratory policies and procedures.
Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent plus three to six months phlebotomy training or successful completion of a phlebotomy training program (I.e. phlebotomy school or medical assistant program). Six months of experience in blood drawing techniques preferred. Work requires the ability to set priorities, organize work and select proper equipment and supplies. Work requires daily contact with patients, their family members and/or visitors, which requires a consistent and professional level of courtesy and tact.
