Description

Oneida Health Hospital is currently seeking a full-time Phlebotomist to work at one of our conveniently located Lab Draw locations in our network; both day and evening shifts available. This position is responsible for drawing blood and collecting other specimens for patients of all ages for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The ideal candidate will have a high degree of attention to detail and be able to complete tasks independently.

*Hourly range: $15 - $19/hour

What You’ll be Great At:

• Using a customer service attitude when interacting with patients.
• Collecting correct specimen(s) and volume required for each test requested.
• Wearing appropriate PPE and adhering to hand hygiene procedures.
• Having a working knowledge of standard phlebotomy and collection practices, techniques, equipment, terminology, and safety precautions.
• Correctly labeling specimens in presence of a patient and properly handling specimens immediately after collection according to test processing requirements.
• Processing specimens.
• Registering patients or dropping off specimens.
• Creating electronic test orders based on tests requested by providers on laboratory requisition.
• Maintaining a neat, clean, well-stocked work area.
• Appropriately managing any patient adverse reactions to the phlebotomy process.

Your Essential Qualifications:

• Certification:

• Experience:

  • Phlebotomy: 1 year (Preferred)
