Under the general direction of the Senior Photo Manager, the Photo Assistant will assist in all related aspects of visual resources, photographic, video, audio-visual, reprographic and photofinishing services for the firm’s collective visual assets.

About the Position

• Assist uploading, assigning metadata and keywords, archiving and retrieving content in the firm’s visual asset management software (OpenAsset) including permissions and usage rights.
• Assist in the cataloging, storage, tagging, and appropriate distribution of digital visual assets to those within the department, firm, and outside entities.
• Assist in developing the shot list for each project photoshoot with Senior Photo Manager, Marketing Managers and project team.
• Assist in scheduling photography with all stakeholders.
• Assist and act at HCM representative on photoshoots with contractual photographers and videographers best suited for the project market sector in various local/regional locations.
• Assist in staging an environment during a photo shoot.
• Ability and enthusiasm to assist and model in photo shoots across various project types, both interior and exterior as needed.
• Assist Senior photo manager as needed for project photography, corporate headshots and internal events such as charrettes, office meetings or cultural events.
• Set up lights and equipment, assist in carrying equipment (less than 30lbs), breakdown of set, maintenance of equipment as necessary.
• Assist in the development of the story being told in video content.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in photography, graphic design or communications
• 1-5 years of experience in photography studio, communications, design agency, or in-house creative studio experience
• Interest and proficient in Photoshop and Bridge, knowledge of Lightroom or Capture One a plus
• Ability to edit/retouch photography
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Basic knowledge and practical experience with equipment, technology, and software. This includes but is not limited to still and video cameras, Adobe Suite editing software, and lighting.
• Interest in architecture, portraits and office cultural events a plus
• Must have an eye for composition of a physical environment
• The ability to travel if necessary and access to private vehicle
