Works with creators, designers, writers, and/or editors to ensure content is selected and edited in a manner cohesive with the tone, content, and objective of the project. Being a Photo Editor - Web uses editing tools to process and retouch photos, coordinates the licensing of stock photography, and adheres to project budgets. Coordinates and adheres to a standard workflow including research, submission, content selection, editing, and publishing. Additionally, Photo Editor - Web typically requires a bachelor's degree. Newspaper group located in Elk County, Pennsylvania has an immediate opening for an Editor.
The successful candidate will write stories along with plan, coordinate and revise news content for the print and online edition for three community newspapers.
The editor will reveiw story ideas and decide what material will appeal most to readers along with working with the editorial staff to edit and continually improve the products.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong interest in current events and the community, the ability to thrive under deadlines and experience with In-Design software.
Previous experience as a journalist, photographer and proofreader are expected.
A minimum of a 2-year degree in the area of communications, journalism, english or creative writing preferred.
