    Statement of the Job:

    The University of Maine is seeking to fill the position of Temporary – Scientific Research Assistant, to be based at the Center for Cooperative Aquaculture Research, located in Franklin, ME. This position is needed to fill as soon as possible, 40 hours per week, with weekend and holiday shifts required. The pay for this position is $15.32/hour with a 4 month anticipated duration. Temporary position may be extended contingent on funding.


    This is a project-specific position focused on rearing and husbandry of sea urchins in an indoor aquaculture facility.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • 1 year combined experience with any of the following: care of fish or animals, laboratory operations, or farm and food production. A college degree may substitute for experience
    • Successful record for attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently

    Preferred:

    • Ability to fabricate, repair, and install aquaculture equipment is a plus
