Job Description ROLE OVERVIEW The Operator has overall responsibility for their respective machine and its numbers, including but not limited to uptime/downtime, product scrap, output, and efficiency through exercising good manufacturing practices and identifying areas of opportunity for continuous improvement, all while maintaining all safety standards and expectations relating to their job and machine. This person must act within food safety and GMP guidelines at all times. WHAT YOU GET TO DO Create an environment where safety, customer focus, effectiveness & efficiency can be seen in people and equipment performance Maximize equipment effectiveness and productivity and eliminate all machine losses Create a sense of ownership with equipment and team members through respect, involvement and training Promote continuous improvement through small-group activities involving production, maintenance, engineering, inside and outside resources Identify and troubleshoot machine issues as needed Mentor, coach, and lead other personnel on the machine to run effectively Train coworkers on proper operating techniques, knowledge, and practices Oversee new hire training for respective machine Practice good housekeeping – including sweeping, dusting, wiping of tables, etc. Actively participate in all required trainings including but not limited to safety and technical trainings Responsible for inspecting all goods produced Responsible for packaging all goods produced Responsible for trimming and accuracy of all goods produced Responsible for data accuracy of all transactions performed WHAT WE VALUE Demonstrated ability to work with numbers and analyze data Ability to work well in a group setting Ability to learn and take instruction Ability to work at productive speeds Quality Awareness Safety Awareness Autonomous Maintenance Awareness Ability to strategically solve problems Strong troubleshooting skills coupled with tenacity WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU High school diploma or equivalent, preferred Trades achieved training is a plus Three years manufacturing experience as a maintenance or production leader/operator Must be able to read precision measuring tools and also read and interpret basic mechanical and pneumatics schematics Must have experience using Microsoft Office and accurate data entry Must understand how to analyze data and influence effective decision making PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires an employee to stand, walk and sit, and work at a computer for extended periods of time. Frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Potential contact with chemicals and cleaning supplies, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds is a requirement. Operators are required to maneuver around and inside small areas to make machine adjustments during setups, changeovers, and troubleshooting. Monroe (historically French: Poste-du-Ouachita) is the eighth-largest city in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It is the parish seat of Ouachita Parish.
