Physical Therapist - Nursing Home evaluates and treats patients suffering from a physical disability due to injury, disease, or surgery in a nursing home environment. Establishes treatment plans and treats patients using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients' pain and help them increase their mobility. Being a Physical Therapist - Nursing Home works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and adjustors. Monitors, documents, and reports patients' progress. Additionally, Physical Therapist - Nursing Home may supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and athletic trainers. Requires an advanced degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Typically reports to a manager. Requires a state license to practice physical therapy. Physical Therapist - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Yellowstone River Nursing and Rehabilitation, formally known as Avantara, is currently searching for a talented Physical Therapist (PT) to join our team! Eduro Healthcare is the new operator, and our therapists are hired in-house so we can have better communication and collaboration with the entire facility.

    We provide education on dementia training, wound care, vestibular rehab, modality use, skilled maintenance, and many more programming topics.

    Physical Therapist Job Responsibilities

    • Evaluate a Resident’s condition and develop an appropriate physical rehabilitation plan.
    • Help Residents to improve their mobility.
    • Help Residents through their tasks and monitor their performance.
    • Inform Residents what they should anticipate in different stages of their recovery and how they will handle each situation.
    • Maintain Resident confidence and protect facility operations by keeping information confidential.
    • Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants when required.
    • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by protecting Residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
    • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements.
    • Contribute to inter-disciplinary team efforts in resident care.

    Physical Therapist Requirements

    • Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
    • Must hold current and active PT license or registration in state employed.
    • Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus!
    • Completion of orientation required by company policy.
    • Health screening and TB test within two weeks of employment.
    • Become familiar with and comply to all local, state, and federal regulations relating to the job.
    • Show within three (3) days of hire satisfactory evidence of identity and eligibility for employment.
