Physical Therapist - Nursing Home evaluates and treats patients suffering from a physical disability due to injury, disease, or surgery in a nursing home environment. Establishes treatment plans and treats patients using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients' pain and help them increase their mobility. Being a Physical Therapist - Nursing Home works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and adjustors. Monitors, documents, and reports patients' progress. Additionally, Physical Therapist - Nursing Home may supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and athletic trainers. Requires an advanced degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Typically reports to a manager. Requires a state license to practice physical therapy. Physical Therapist - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Responsibilities of a Physical Therapist:
Be responsible for evaluating and treating residents and patients with physical disabilities in an inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation setting.
Apply your therapeutic skills in the properties of exercise, heath, ultrasound, and massage, to relieve pain, restore function and promote healing.
Qualifications for a Physical Therapist:
Bachelor’s or Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy required.
Licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state required.
One (1 ) or more years of clinical experience preferred.
