Physical Therapy Director directs and coordinates the policies, objectives, initiatives, and programs for the delivery of physical therapy programs to patients. Evaluates current physical therapy programs and investigates potential new or revised therapy programs to improve the quality of patient care. Being a Physical Therapy Director oversees budgeting, staffing, and the development and implementation of new physical therapy programs. Ensures the physical therapy division follows regulatory compliance requirements and standard procedures. Additionally, Physical Therapy Director typically requires a doctorate degree in physical therapy or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Physical Therapy Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Physical Therapy Director typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     Therapitas is looking for a Director of Physical Therapy to lead our PT department and join our leadership team. 

    Over the next ten years, we will build two world-class development centers and work to provide services to 100% of Latino children, regardless of their location. To achieve these goals, there are a few challenges that our Director of Physical Therapy will specifically be responsible to help us overcome: 

    • Developing the department- The Director of PT will ensure that the quality of the therapy provided is evidence-based, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and stay abreast of the latest developments in pediatric physical therapy. They will direct the professional development of the PT team and consult with Clinical directors on equipment investments, PT policies, and supervision guidelines. 
    • Growing the department- To build a great department, we must continue to attract amazing therapists. The Director of PT will network with schools, other PT professionals, and recruiters to find the absolute best therapists to join our team. 
    • Partnering with pediatricians- Our pediatricians are not just referral sources, they are our partners in serving our families. The Director of PT will come alongside local providers to educate, nurture existing relationships, and provide resources. 

    The Ideal Candidate

    The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for physical therapy and serving families. They will have substantial experience in pediatric therapy including supervision of PTAs, student mentorship,  and establishing department best practices. The ideal candidate will be comfortable presenting professionally in front of their peers, and working on projects independently or in collaboration with fellow leaders. 



     

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or related field
    • Leadership experience
    • Knowledge of state and insurance regulations
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Familiarity with social media and its role in building community relationships
    • Commitment to evidence-based research and continuous learning
