Physical Therapy Director directs and coordinates the policies, objectives, initiatives, and programs for the delivery of physical therapy programs to patients. Evaluates current physical therapy programs and investigates potential new or revised therapy programs to improve the quality of patient care. Being a Physical Therapy Director oversees budgeting, staffing, and the development and implementation of new physical therapy programs. Ensures the physical therapy division follows regulatory compliance requirements and standard procedures. Additionally, Physical Therapy Director typically requires a doctorate degree in physical therapy or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Physical Therapy Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Physical Therapy Director typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     Job Summary: As a dynamic leader, you will guide, mentor, and motivate a cross-functional team, illustrating the direct impact of their roles on company objectives. Serving as a trusted business advisor, you will foster physician/provider relationships within local communities to elevate the company's presence.

    Direct Reports: IT Manager, Credentialing Specialist, Front Office Supervisor, Billing / AR manager, and HR Generalist.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    General Director Duties

    • Provides visionary leadership to champion Rebound's mission to make meaningful change in people’s lives.
    • Actively promotes the company's culture and values within the practice and communities.
    • Manages and continually builds physician/provider relationships in local communities to elevate the company's presence.
    • Maintains current knowledge of changing laws that impact the physical therapy industry. Upholds lawful and ethical standards in the business operation.
    • Synthesizes operational efficiencies and proposes opportunities for improvement.

    Financial Operations

    • Implements operational/financial strategies to maximize collections and reduce costs.
    • Provides oversight of the revenue cycle from charge entry to collections.
    • Provides daily mentorship and direction to billing and operations staff, including identifying issues and managing resolutions as needed.
    • Analyzes the company’s fee schedules to ensure appropriate billing for services rendered. 
    • Develops and maintains policies/controls to ensure the integrity and security of company funds throughout all work processes.
    • Oversees contract negotiations
    • Consistently reviews and manages financial statements and budgets.
    • Provides financial analysis and recommends operational efficiencies.

    IT Management

    • Oversees the maintenance and development of information systems to provide effective, secure, and optimum intra-company communication and communication with patients, doctors, insurance providers, and others.
    • Ensures system compliance with HIPAA and all security procedures.
    • Oversees computer programs to streamline business operations, including scheduling, billing/collections, and EMR software programs.

    Payer Management

    • Manages excellent relations with insurance providers to maximize reimbursement and minimize payment cycles.
    • Maintains strong provider relations, enabling the company to provide our patients with the best customer service and information.
    • Oversees credentialing compliance process to ensure therapists are licensed and credentialed with insurance companies.

    Front Office Operations

    • Establish processes, procedures, and training to ensure front office employees are equipped to provide the best patient experience available.
    • Oversees orderly operation for front-end operations staff in multiple clinic locations to ensure customer service and duties that affect collections are being adhered to (collecting co-payments, scheduling management, and vacancy rate management)

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree as a minimum. (Preference in Business, Health Care Management, or Finance)
    • Comprehensive knowledge of operations and revenue cycles, preferably in contracts, reimbursement, billing, coding, compliance, scheduling, payor mix
    • Demonstrated leadership of professional staff in achieving profitability goals
