Physical Therapy Director directs and coordinates the policies, objectives, initiatives, and programs for the delivery of physical therapy programs to patients. Evaluates current physical therapy programs and investigates potential new or revised therapy programs to improve the quality of patient care. Being a Physical Therapy Director oversees budgeting, staffing, and the development and implementation of new physical therapy programs. Ensures the physical therapy division follows regulatory compliance requirements and standard procedures. Additionally, Physical Therapy Director typically requires a doctorate degree in physical therapy or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Physical Therapy Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Physical Therapy Director typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.   • Doctors of Physical Therapy is looking to hire a part time (20-30 hours per week) Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to work in our Monroe, MI clinic. This position has a flexible schedule, but the ideal candidate must be available to work 2 evenings a week until 7pm.     A PTA will assist in providing effective and efficient physical therapy treatments according to established treatment plans under the direction of a physical therapist that embodies the Doctors of Physical Therapy vision: to provide patient outcomes via evidence based practice and literature supported treatment which maximizes patient service and quality care.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Adhere to the APTA Guidelines and abide by all federal and state regulations.
    • Deliver the highest level of patient care and service supported by evidence and research.
    • Understand and comply with proper documentation requirements including for the need of progress note, re-eval, etc.
    • Ensure timely, professional, and high level communicate with all referral sources regarding patient care.
    • Attend training and continuing education courses to foster professional growth.
    • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to apply therapeutic principles and practices within the scope of professional limitations
    • Progress patients skillfully and safely through the levels of treatment within the maximum capabilities of the patient
    • Consult with supervising Physical Therapist regarding progress and changes in patient's condition
    • Provide relevant education to patient and family regarding home programs and
    • Develop and maintain effective communication with the patient, family and other members of the rehabilitation team
    • Assist in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment
    • Demonstrate willingness to adjust personal schedule in case of crisis and real clinic need
    • Orient, instruct and direct work activities for support personnel as appropriate
    • Participate in quality and safety improvement activities as directed by the Clinic Director
    • Participate in program development and marketing efforts as directed by the Clinic Director
    • Perform any other duties as directed by the Clinic Director

    Qualifications:

    • Current physical therapist assistant license for the state in which you will be practicing
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from a CAPTE accredited physical therapist assistant program
    • Experience in providing skilled physical therapy to a variety of patient populations including, but not limited to soft tissue mobilization, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, functional activities, neuromuscular re-education, and modalities as needed.
    • Experience with working closely as a member of the physical therapist/physical therapist assistant team to provide beneficial treatment to patients
