Physical Therapy Supervisor supervises the staff of the physical therapy division and/or clinic. Assesses physical therapy programs to evaluate the quality of patient care. Being a Physical Therapy Supervisor provides guidance to and monitors the performance of physical therapy staff. Ensures physical therapy staff follows regulatory compliance requirements and standard procedures. Additionally, Physical Therapy Supervisor may perform training demonstrations for physical therapists and assistants. May maintain a small caseload of patients. Requires a doctorate degree in physical therapy. Requires Certified Physical Therapist (CPT). Requires Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT). Typically reports to a manager. The Physical Therapy Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Provide occupational health services for employees at client locations to include medical surveillance, physicals and injury care. Perform clinical duties consistent to their education, certification and competency levels.
• Evaluate and treat injuries and illnesses and critically think using your clinical experience to conduct a range of risk and health assessments, to include appropriate documentation and follow up• Provide episodic care for non-occupational injuries and illnesses • Execute program workflows, protocols and procedures including emergency response, internal and external care referrals, return to work, stay at work, restriction management, and support of client Leave of Absence (LOA) management• Provide preventative and restorative services and education to employees by engaging employees or dispatching an early interventions specialist to provide job coaching, ADL coaching, mobility coaching, and workstation assessments• Prepare ergonomic, injury intervention, injury treatment, surveillance, and FMLA/ADA reports
