Physician Assistant - Medical assesses, plans, and provides patient care under the supervision of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examinations, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Being a Physician Assistant - Medical orders and interprets appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries. Additionally, Physician Assistant - Medical requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Requires a master's degree of Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. ENT practice in Metairie, LA is seeking a motivated and versatile applicant to provide clinical support in a Medical Assistant role as well as the ability to handle a subset of medical office clerical duties, including answering calls and scheduling appointments. This position may require the applicant to cross-cover in a receptionist capacity, when necessary. The ideal applicant would have the knowledge to conduct an efficient patient flow from arrival through to departure; perform various clerical and clinical duties; as well as interface with clinic personnel, patients/visitors, and fellow employees to ensure positive relationships and quality care. Applicant should have a willingness and aptitude to utilize Athenahealth (EHR) to complete daily work. Day-to-day activities include, but are not limited to, the essential functions listed below:

High School diploma or equivalent required. Having completed a certified Medical Assistant program is desired but not required. Minimum of 2 years’ medical office experience, preferred but not required. Must be willing and able to exceed expectations for both productivity and quality standards. Requires the ability to organize and prioritize day-to-day tasks in order to keep work assignments current. Must be a self-starter and dependable. Must have proficient computer and typing skills.
Job Type: Full-time.
Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with lunch break. Full-time employees that excel and remain with the practice through the probationary period are able to take part in a rotating Friday schedule in which employees work alternating full and half-day Friday schedules, all while receiving full-day wages.
