Vista Health System is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team of providers. Our mid-levels provide patient evaluation, care, and treatment in both an office and hospital setting.

Examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others.

The Primary Job Functions are:

• Performs initial or follow-up evaluation and management of patients with acute or chronic GI conditions.
• Obtains patient histories and performs physical examinations.
• Orders appropriate medical treatment to include medications, medical devices, intravenous fluids, laboratory/diagnostic studies, procedures, or physical therapy.
• Utilizes differential diagnoses and recommends appropriate interventions.
• Provides counseling and coordination of care.
• Provides physician support by addressing tasks including patient phone calls and following up with results as needed.

Requirements:

• Advance Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant license with the state of Illinois. DEA license required.
• BLS, ACLS certification required; PALS preferred.
• Experience conducting physical exams, treating injuries, suturing strongly preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal communications skills.
• Outstanding track record in patient satisfaction.
