North Mississippi Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates in Tupelo is seeking a skilled and committed Surgical Assistant to join our team and assist us in delivering exceptional care to our patients.  Our core belief is putting the patient’s needs first, and it underlies every aspect of our practice.  

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for their diagnosis or treatment. 
• Assist the Oral Surgeon during a variety of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures.
• Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Control inventory of clinical supplies. 
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control in the practice. 
• Prepre and draw sedation medications. 
• Acquire dental x-rays and CBCTs.
• Take diagnostic impressions and digital scans. 
• Process contaminated laundry according to OSHA regulations. 
• Phone in prescriptions to pharmacy as instructed.
• Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a computer and phone.
• Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential. 

Requirements

• One or more years of Dental and/or Surgical Assistant experience is preferred.
• Dental Assisting Certificate or Surgical Technician Certification preferred. 
• DAANCE Certification preferred. 
• Radiology Certificate required. 
• BLS CPR Certificate reuored. 
• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Consistent professional appearance and attitude. 
• Detail oriented, punctual, and patient-care focused. 
• Motivated to grow and learn.
