Physician Assistant - Surgical under the direction of physician, performs first assistant surgical duties, including tissue retraction and suturing. Completes pre-op tasks including physical examinations and recording health history. Being a Physician Assistant - Surgical orders appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests. Participates in daily patient rounds, writes progress notes, conducts patient education, writes prescriptions, and prepares discharge summaries Requires completion of the PANCE exam administered by National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Additionally, Physician Assistant - Surgical requires a master's degree of Health Sciences for Physician Assistants or related. Typically reports to a physician. Requires Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C). Requires State license to practice. Physician Assistant - Surgical's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. SUMMARY Members of our dedicated care team work directly with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to ensure the highest level of care to our patients. In many practices of our multispecialty Physician Group, our Medical Assistant Care Team members may also be asked to perform phlebotomy, prepare specimens for transport to labs, perform simple laboratory procedures, take vital signs, prepare patients for procedures, assist with patient flow, and provide general support for practice operations. Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills are required as well as the desire to be part of a team that functions at the highest level. We offer a highly competitive compensation package. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent preferred Completion Assistant (MA) educational program preferred but not required. Certification in basic life support through the American Heart Association and knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard required. Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience. Phlebotomy skills preferred. Ability to use a multi-line telephone system and computer program for data entry and retrieval. Understanding of medical terminology is required Other Qualifications: CCMAs (Certified Clinical Medial Assistants), AAMAs (American Association of Medical Assistants) and/or MAs certified through the American Medical Technologies (AMT) are strongly preferred, but no longer required. Must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment and have the ability to organize multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
